Bareback For Cowboy Page 4
“I don’t want to keep you up too late. I know you have another busy day tomorrow…and the next…and the next.” She laid her head on his shoulder.
“I hope you do keep me up.” He grinned, placing a kiss on her head. “Perhaps you’re my good luck token.”
The buzz of her phone caught her off guard. They stopped, and Sophia rummaged through her purse for the cell. “I wasn’t expecting a phone call.”
He noticed the grimace on her face when she saw the number. “Sorry, Cade, this will just take a moment.” She answered speaking in French but alternated between the two languages.
“Alex, this is not a good time.” He could see she was annoyed by the way she placed her hand on her hip and tapped her foot on the pavement.
“You’re what?” She spun away from Cade’s questioning stare.
“I’m fine, Alex. You didn’t need to do that.”
Cade could hear the disappointment in her voice. Who was this Alex?
She shook her head. “I’ll be there in about ten minutes,” she declared and hung up her phone.
“Sounded interesting,” Cade spoke.
“I can’t believe he did this,” she almost shouted.
“I’m not sure what you mean, honey.”
“Alex! I can’t believe he flew all the way here. He knew I needed some time away.” She crossed her arms over her chest.
“I don’t suppose Alex is a woman?” he queried although he’d heard her say he a few times.
“No, definitely not female. He’s my boss, and he’s here,” she sighed, and her shoulders slumped.
“In Calgary?”
“I’m sorry, Cade. He’s at the main gate of the Stampede grounds. I told him I’d meet him in ten minutes.”
People were lined up at the gates, but they passed the line and entered the grounds. A tall, dark-haired man stood out in the crowd. Dressed in black slacks and button-up pink shirt, he didn’t fit in. When he spotted Sophia, he dashed forward.
“Soph! What were you thinking…coming here without telling me?” He pulled her into his arms and kissed her on the lips. Turning her head away, she broke the kiss.
Cade felt the hairs stand up on the back of his neck. What is that all about? Perhaps he was more than just a boss.
Cade stood and crossed his arms. The man was tall but not as tall as he was. Sophia pushed away from him and turned toward Cade. “Cade, this is Alex. Alex, this is my friend, Cade,” she introduced the two and looked down at the ground.
The man extended his hand and laughed. “This is the cowboy you were telling me about.” It didn’t come out as a question but more of a statement. Cade took his hand and squeezed harder than normal. Alex’s eyes met his.
“Yes, I guess I am the cowboy,” Cade responded without expression.
He watched the prim and proper man flex his hand.
“Ma chère, this is a very primitive place.” Alex spun around. “You do not fit here. Let me take you back home.”
“I’m enjoying my time here, Alex. And I haven’t seen Cade for years. We have a lot of catching up to do.”
Even in the darkness, he could see irritation in the man’s face. His intentions were coming across loud and clear.
“Very well.” He held up his hands in defeat. “You leave me no choice but to remain by your side to ensure your every need is taken care of.”
Cade raised his eyebrows toward Sophia. Nothing would make him happier than to grab the man by the neck and toss him out of the grounds.
“I’m really fine, Alex, and Cade has done a great job of ensuring I have everything I need.” She smiled.
Alex nodded at Cade. “I’m grateful…Cade, but I’m here now. Sophia, I have booked us flights back to Paris in three days.”
He noticed her cheeks redden. “I can’t go home in three days!”
“Of course you can.”
“Alex, I just got here. I’m not ready to go home yet.”
The forceful man moved closer. And so did Cade.
Alex and Sophia bantered back and forth in French, and for once, Cade wished he’d paid better attention in high school. The look on Sophia’s face told him she wasn’t happy, though, and if she wasn’t happy, he wasn’t happy. He’d spent enough time being idle and letting the other man control the situation. His arm scooped around Sophia’s waist and spun her toward him. “Come on, Sophia, we should go. I still have to show you the beer gardens.”
Cade could see the man was fuming. “Sophia, you must return home with me. We have won the Lautier account. He’s scheduled a meeting in four days and has requested you be there.”
He felt her body sigh once again. “We won the account?”
“Oui, ma chère, you won the account.” Now the annoying man smiled and locked stares with him.
“I see.” She smiled weakly.
She tried to put up a brave front. “Cade and I are heading to the beer gardens. You are welcome to come if you wish.”
“I thought we might head back to the hotel for a nightcap,” he suggested with an irritated frown. “But the hotel did not have you registered.”
She cleared her throat and smiled up at Cade. “No, Cade was gracious enough to let me stay with him.”
The man mimicked Cade’s stance, crossing his arms over his chest. “I see. Very well, let us all go to these beer gardens.”
Chapter Seven
She couldn’t believe her luck. Alex had showed up here…in Calgary. He was the last person she expected or wanted to see. And it was quite obvious Cade wanted nothing to do with him either. He refused to let go of her, and she had no problem with that.
Alex pulled on the collar on his shirt and stared down at the numerous people walking by them. Loud music could be heard coming from the large tent as the country band played.
Cade whispered in her ear, “Welcome to the beer gardens.”
It was packed as they made their way to the front of the large tent and up to the bar. Cade ordered three beers and paid for them. He handed a bottle to Sophia and one to Alex. Alex stared at it like he’d never seen a bottle of beer in his lifetime. Cade clinked his bottle to Sophia’s. “To a wonderful day.”
“Hear. Hear,” she agreed.
The music slowed. Cade snatched Sophia’s beer and deposited it back on the bar beside his own. Tugging her toward the dance floor, he leaned close. “Come on, I’ll teach you to two-step.”
“What makes you think I don’t know how?” She turned sideways, slinking between two women who were definitely ogling him.
She heard Alex’s panic-stricken shout. “Where are you going?”
Cade yanked her firmly up against his chest. “I don’t like your boss.”
She looked up into his eyes. “He can be a pain.”
Cade let his hands fall from her shoulders to glide slowly down her back to her backside. “I think we should get out of here.”
He had no idea how the sound of his voice drove her crazy with need.
“Why’d he have to show up?” she ground out full of frustration.
“In case you haven’t noticed, sweetie. He has other intentions where you’re concerned.”
“No, he doesn’t!”
His large fingers cupped the cheeks of her ass. “He’s not blind, and I’ll bet he’s fuming over there right now watching me with my hands all over you.”
“Cade, behave yourself…just for a bit.”
“I can’t with you.”
The song ended and they found Alex standing beside them. “I think it’s my…” Before Alex could finish his statement, Sophia cut him off.
“It has been quite the day. I think I’m ready to turn in.” She held her hand up to her mouth, covering a pretend yawn.
“It is late, and I do have a very busy day coming up,” Cade chimed in.
“Alex, I’ll catch up with you tomorrow, give me a call.” She held her hand up to her ear and mouth mimicking a phone.
“This wasn’t really what I had in mind for our fi
rst night together,” Alex pouted.
“Sorry, Alex. I’m just so tired.”
Cade took the lead once again and pulled her by the hand away from Alex. “Nice to meet you.” His grin told her and probably Alex it was a lie.
The warm breeze as they stepped outside was a nice reprieve from the hot tent. “It’s getting late,” he stated, scooping her around the waist. “The fireworks are going to go off soon.”
“A girl could hope.” She winked.
“I have the perfect place to take you.”
“Lead the way—and hurry.”
They stopped in front of what looked like a closed ride until a man emerged. “Hey, Cade.” The man extended his hand. “You know I could get in some serious shit for this.” He shook his head.
“Send them my way if you get any grief.”
Up the stairs they went with Cade pulling her behind. “Come on, sweetie. We’re gonna miss the fireworks.”
He opened the door allowing her to step into the small carriage. She sat with Cade opposite her. Soon the tram moved its way down the line over the crowds of people and above most of the rides. It stopped, gently swaying in the sky.
“The fireworks will go off over there behind the barns.”
“It’s really dark up here. You’re right, this is a great spot to watch the show.”
He slid his arm around her shoulders, pulling her close. “Why does it feel like we’ve done this forever?”
She giggled. “Perhaps we did in another life. You know, it’s not like we don’t know each other and haven’t known each other for many years.”
“Trust me, I didn’t know you like this ten years ago.” His hand touched the inside of her thigh, causing her to hold her breath. Her hand rubbed up and down his leg.
“Yes, but I wanted you, too,” she cooed. “Are you sure this is a good idea?” The urgency to have him rose inside her like an active volcano.
***
His hand slid further until he felt the lace fabric on his fingertips. Pushing the material aside, he could already feel the dewy moisture between her feminine folds.
“Cade…” she moaned.
“You’re already wet for me.” He removed his hand much to her dismay and stuck his finger in his mouth. “I’m hungry.”
Tugging him roughly, she yanked him forward, her lips crushing against his. He felt a rush of heat from her lithe body as her tongue sought his. Unable to resist, he briefly sank into her arms. Then tearing away from her, he sank to the floor of the carriage. Grabbing her behind the knees, he brought her forward on the seat and spread her knees wide.
Without hesitation, she complied. The skirt she wore posed a problem, which he quickly fixed by pushing it up over her thighs. He then pushed the tiny piece of lacy material out of the way and bent his head. Teasingly his lips laid gentle kisses up and along the inside of her beautifully tanned leg. He’d tortured himself long enough. He allowed his tongue to dart out and between her luscious swollen lips where he flicked ferociously until he captured her cunt with his mouth and sucked her like a juicy peach.
She cried out, grabbing him by the hair and pushing him harder into her pussy. It drove him frantic with desire. She was dripping wet and he lapped at her with his tongue. Her breathing came fast and hard. “Oh…don’t stop. Fuck, it feels so good.”
His teeth gently nipped at her clit as he sucked. He felt her legs tremble, but she spread them wider until she’d kicked off her shoes and had her feet up on the seat closer to her ass so her thighs could sprawl open. “Oh God,” she cried. It was then that he took his free hand and plunged his fingers deep inside her. The first set of fireworks shot high into the night sky with a bang of excitement that mixed with her glorious climax.
Before he could continue his assault, her feet dropped and she pulled him up to her mouth. “You are a very bad boy,” she panted, running her tongue over his lips. “I think I’ll have to punish you.”
His heart did a flip with excitement and anticipation. He stared into her bewitching eyes that danced and sparkled with mischief. She held him utterly transfixed and hostage. He’d do whatever she asked, and ask she did.
She fiddled with his belt. “Stand up,” she ordered. While working with the button and zipper, she leaned forward to nuzzle his neck. “Place your hands on the roof and don’t move.”
Slowly he stood. Streams of fireworks shot out all around them. His cock grew even harder.
He did as she asked and placed his palms on the ceiling. Her hands worked his pants down over his hips. And there he stood, half naked, swaying with the carriage. She rendered him helpless. Slowly she bent her head, taking him in her mouth. He gasped and shuttered, overwhelmed by the sensations flooding his body. She sucked from the base of his balls right up and along his shaft to the pulsing head, where she swirled her devilish tongue. He felt her tiny hand cup his heavy sac ,then begin stroking up and down while continuing to run her lips over his head.
It was happening too fast, and he was spiraling out of control quickly. He dropped one hand. Her head immediately left his cock and nipped him in the abdomen. He yelled inwardly.
“Uhh. Uhh!” she barked.
He put his hand back and felt her hot wet mouth cover him once more. “Fuck!” He thrust his hips forward, sticking his swollen cock deeper in her mouth. He opened his eyes and looked down at her. The sight almost did him in. Fuck, she looked incredible going down on him like that.
“Shit!” he moaned in response. Her next move drove him to the point of no return. With her mouth still working on him and one hand stroking him, she took her free hand and began fingering her cunt. He felt his semen rise up the length of his rock-hard cock. Her movements became quicker and more demanding. The tingling began. “Are you sure?” he demanded. She shook her head and he lost it. “Fuck it!” Removing his hands from the roof, he grabbed her head, holding her close and pumping his seed in her mouth.
With her wild movements and moans, he knew she climaxed with him.
Time seemed to stop, and he let his hands fall from her head. He hadn’t expected this to happen, and he hadn’t expected to be so forceful with her.
She pulled away from him, and he sank to his knees, pulling her into his arms and holding her close. His chest felt tight and he fought to breathe normally. “What have you done to me?” he whispered in her ear.
She struggled to push away from him. “That was amazing.”
He didn’t know how to respond. “I hear you.”
“I’ve never seen fireworks like that before,” she said, shaking her head innocently.
Unable to help himself, he burst out laughing. Incredible oral sex and a sense of humor on top of it all.
“Very funny.” He leaned forward, kissing her on the nose.
“From what I did see and hear, it was great.” She stifled a yawn.
“What, a real yawn?”
Her head bobbed up and down. “I guess I am really tired.”
“It’s another early start tomorrow. Let’s get you into bed.”
“Well, that would be a first…today.” She smiled, biting her bottom lip in a provocative manner.
“I’m not really being a gentleman at all, am I?”
“I’m not complaining, and if you were being any nicer, I’d think there were strings attached.” She ran a hand through her hair and continued speaking. “Cade, I just want you to know I don’t do this sort of thing all the time. I hope you don’t think that of me?”
He wasn’t really sure how to respond to her statement, and for whatever reason, he didn’t want to believe she was as promiscuous as she seemed to be.
“It must be my gentlemanly charms,” he said, kissing her on the cheek.
“You’re right, that must be it, or perhaps that I’ve had a crush on you since…well, forever! I’m just sowing my wild oats, as a guy would say.”
He shook his head and adjusted his hat. “Okay, we’ll leave it at that.”
Chapter Eight

; In circular motions, she brushed her teeth until a crash gave her a start. Dropping the toothbrush, she pushed the bathroom door open and peeked around the corner.
“Cade?” She peered into the kitchen.
Cans, pasta, and other miscellaneous groceries lay sprawled out on the floor in a cluttered mess. “Shit!” he swore.
“Are you okay?” A familiar scent drifted up her nose. Her head turned to the stove.
“I thought you might be hungry.”
Immediately tears sprang to her eyes as memories washed over her. Frozen in place, she stood still. She could picture her mom happily humming a tune while she stirred the soup in the pot. She always scolded gently, “Sophia, you don’t eat enough.”
A tear slipped down her cheek, and she placed her face in the crook of her arm. The fluffy robe swallowed up the tears.
He turned the stove off and came to her. “What did I do? I’m sorry. I just thought you might want a snack before bedtime…I usually do.”
She shook her head. “No, it’s not you.”
He took her by the arm and forced her to sit. “I thought vegetable beef soup was your favorite? It used to be.”
She looked up at him knowing her eyes were still full of tears. “How did you remember that?”
“I made you cry because I remembered you like vegetable beef soup?” he frowned with uncertainty.
“I can’t believe you remember that.” She briefly hesitated. “Mom made it for me all the time. She said I didn’t eat properly.”
He reached out, pushing her hair over her shoulder. “I babysat you enough times. I’m really sorry I made you cry.”
She blinked away a few more tears. “You are very sweet. Why aren’t you married with three kids already?”
The look on his face told her she’d caught him off guard. “Well, I certainly wasn’t prepared for that question.”
“It wasn’t really a question I expected an answer to. It was more of a statement.”
“Guess I never found the right girl.”
“I know why I’ve always had a crush on you. You shouldn’t be so nice.”
“How about some soup?” he asked, obviously trying to change the subject.
